Benji Hicks opens up 2024 season at Screven Motor Speedway
On Friday afternoon, Benji Hicks made his first start of the young 2024 season at Screven Motor Speedway (Sylvania, Ga.) for Winter Freeze XIV.
Among 34 Southern All Star Late Models, Benji raced into the 30-lap feature but was an early retiree and recorded a 27th-place finish.
With a $12,000 prize on the line for Saturday's finale, Hicks improved his qualifying time and earned a place in the 50-lap main event. Moving forward three positions, Benji finished 12th in the running order.
